Training course
High Impact Slide Documents
Slide documents people read and act on. A one-day course.
Why take this course?
You write slide documents that people read on their own, without you there to explain them. They carry complex, critical information. And too often the message gets lost in the bullet points.
Maybe you're already having some success using AI to help build decks. But you want to understand what you should be aiming for: what good looks like. This course gives you that standard, whether you build slides yourself or direct an AI to do it.
What you'll learn
You'll learn why visual communication works: how the brain processes what it sees, and how memory drives the outcomes you need. You'll practise four habits that make documents easier to read and harder to forget: declutter, tidy, emphasise and link. And you'll pick up the PowerPoint techniques that make good slides quicker to build.
Course content
Why visual communication works
How our brain interprets and processes visual information. The role of memory in driving the outcomes you need.
Four habits
Decluttering to remove noise and focus on the right points. Tidying to increase the perception of quality. Emphasising the right points to make them memorable. Linking on and across slides for a clear narrative flow.
Using PowerPoint effectively
Productivity tips. Text formatting for clarity. Colour to improve impact. Careful use of icons. Drawing diagrams that communicate. Subtle animations and transitions. Photos, illustrations and visual metaphors.

What you'll get
What you need
Some PowerPoint experience
The course is for people who already use PowerPoint, but want to use it more effectively.
From the moment we began, it was clear that the course was well-structured and designed to engage participants on a deep, personal level. Steve was exceptional, combining theoretical insights with hands-on exercises that made the learning both practical and immersive. One of the standout aspects was how the training emphasized the psychological power of stories – how to connect with an audience, craft compelling narratives, and deliver them in a way that resonates long after the story is told. The tools and techniques I learned have already transformed the way I build decks. I left the training not just with a set of new skills, but with renewed confidence in my ability to engage and inspire others. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
Masterclass
Short on time? Start with a masterclass
A 60, 90 or 120-minute session for larger groups, in person or virtual. It covers why visual communication works and the four habits, with plenty of before-and-after examples. We set the length to suit your audience. Longer sessions add more tips, and can include a short practice activity.

Using AI too?
AI as a Precision Tool applies the same principles in your own AI tool. Use it to plan, build and review slide documents, without handing over control.
